For the first time in the site's history the list of Recent Articles (younger than 14 days) says "None Found". I always said to myself this would never happen. Woops.

Don't worry though, the new year will see a lot more of the ideas stuck in my head spill out on to the screen. You will have to wait until then though as life is a little hectic at the moment. Plus I seem to have a permanent hangover this time of year!

Puakma is NOT a scooter.

Special thanks to Mike Golding for demonstrating what the Comment form is meant to be used for. His comments here and here make a refreshing change to the usual ill-researched questioning.

Talking of which, I got a mail today asking what trick I was using behind the "A55692" part of the URL. Was it a trick to keep the URL shorter? No. It's called a directory!

A lot of people are getting very excited about Puakma. And with good reason.

Never have I believed in a project so much. All will be revealed in the new year...

The guys at Disgo have just mailed me a 64MB password-protected version, gratis, for me to "review". The least I can do is add another link. Review to follow..

Thanks to all of you that responded to Wednesday's post about the lack of work on JobServe at the moment. There are indeed more jobs listed if you are willing to take a permanent postition. This is not as easy as it sounds. Employers just don't want contractors who apply for permy jobs as soon as the bad times hit home. Accepting a permanent role would have to be my absolute last option.

Never thought I'd see the day. Searching Jobserve for "Domino and London" produced NO matches. At least now things can only get better...

The latest article is going down quite well. I've never seen the "Mail to a friend" link used so much. Some of the things you say: "Regarde ce site comme il est beau !"; "Wow! Thats one spicy meata-ball!". Yep, that's right, I can see the messages you all write. Better watch what you say...

Received a mail today, totally out of the blue, from the director of the company that distribute the Disgo. All is forgiven.

Spending as much time as I do on the internet you get to see a lot of stuff. Something I've seen more and more of lately is screen-grabs of people's desktop. Not to be out done I've decided to join in. Here's what mine looks like when I work on the site.

Hungover again thanks to my old mates from Merrill Lynch. Cheers guys. It only makes me feel better that they have to go to work today. Apart from Pete who's in Sydney looking for work. Anybody got a job for him? He's good!

Turns out that my poor attempt at a Weblog is a fraud in its failure to link to much at all. This is how it should be done.

So it's the time of year to start buying things again. This time last year I treated myself to one of these. It still amazes me how good it sounds for something so wee. Anybody at a loss as to what to buy theirself (or others) for Christmas should give one a whirl.

The durable, take anywhere Disgo USB memory stick that I was so impressed by a few weeks ago just fell apart in my pocket! Guts everywhere.

"jpg" (whoever he may be) tells me that if you have Run Unrestricted Agent rights you can use the following code in an agent to restart the HTTP Task.

Sub Initialize
Print "HTTP Task Restarter - JwH- 0.01"
 taskId%=Shell ("nserver.exe -c "+Chr(34)+"tell http restart"+Chr(34))
 Print "Done."
End Sub

Haven't dared try it yet but it sounds interesting and he seems to know his stuff..

This made me laugh today. What is the Web coming to? Here's another link to KPMG just to annoy them.

Driving along the M40 to Birmingham yesterday I saw the turning for the A404. This got me thinking wouldn't it be funny if you wrote a book where page 404 was missing and where page 301 was actually somewhere completely different. Obviously I get very bored on long journeys alone.

Can people who use Outlook and who can't be trusted to keep their PC protected from viruses DELETE ME FROM YOUR ADDRESS BOOK!

Please note that this is not the real codestore! This is the development phase of a codestore in PHP/MySQL.
