Ever noticed my reluctance to try candid photography? This is about the closest I've ever got to shooting strangers. So much easier from behind.
This elderly couple are sat watching the bowlers in the
previous shot. Not sure why they chose to sit behind the fence. Maybe they're not allowed in. Who knows?
The fence is there to keep kids off the well-kept grass, rather than to control the rowdy crowds at the bowls matches, I imagine.
Taken with the Lensbaby lens.

Nice image -- Candids are really hard to do. I've had pretty good luck with them because I deal face-to-face with people all day and for the most part I'm not intimidated very easily. I just don't like bothering people for a photo -- I wouldn't like it either -- but I look for those times when it's clear my subject could care less...
I like the lens baby -- very cool touch to the image..

I know how you feel. I cant seem to get them without being seen. Maybe I need a spy camera. ;-) This is really cool. I love the effect.
I like the photo very much it reminds me of many things. The effect works very well. Its clearly a streotype of crown green bowls, which is fine and works effectively. Its really interesting for me though as at 19 I'm an avid crown green bowls player as are most of my friends. It would be interesting to see a shot of the game in a different light, in the light we see it because although it may even be local to our area, bowls is a massive part of our youth culture. A lot of us are very keen, some more social and enjoy a beer, would this not be interesting to investigate? The old man on bench is a classic
If these people were watching the game on the previous shot, they were watching LAWN Bowls not CROWN GREEN Bowls as indicated by the mat in use
