It's funny. I was passing time at my parent's house this week by taking photos of the frogs in their pond. As I was doing so I remembered
turnover's shot of a frog from last month, which I really liked.
What I didn't realise at the time was that later that night France (turnover's home country) would
beat England (my home country) in the first of our Euro 2004 group games. Not only did they beat us they stole victory from us in the last two minutes of stoppage time!
Now, I know English football fans have a bad reputation the world over, but I'm no xenophobe. It's with my tongue in my cheek that I post a photo of a frog the day after. I hope any French readers can see the funny side. I would never normally refer to a Frenchman as a frog. Honest.

LOL ;)
We did not steal the victory, it was offered to us ;) I think, that you played well defense but the goal of "zizou" is beautiful.
I remember the champion's league final Manchester - Bayern, it was similar.
Beautiful frog. You know his species ?
Personally, I blame our goal-keeper. Firstly for not even trying to save Zizou's goal (which was amazing, I have to admit) but for bringing down a player like that in the penalty area.
Not sure what type of frog it is. My parents get them every year. Until taking this photo I had always thought of them as normal "dirty" frogs. I didn't appreciate the bronze colours in with the browns.
Ok it's a "dirty frog" :)
Arsene wenger (trainer of Arsenal) said before the match : "the weakness of the team of England is the goal-keeper"
Looks like what we call a "bull frog" here... no distinction between gender, just a common name.
Apropos...
Love the color, the bronze is wonderful. A bit more DOF would have been great but overall this is a great capture.
