i really love this photograph. i'm the same just starting out in photography and yes you do need to take the cliche shots before moving on to something more artistically demanding. i really love doing traffic trails - there is something about them that just lures me to keep doin them. perhaps its the experimental side of them - u never what ure going to get!!!
