HOME :: Techical

For those who are interested, this is the boring part.

As the web grows so do the number of different technologies that are being used. For this reason it is becoming harder and harder to develop web sites that work well no matter where you view them from. One way of doing this is to stick to the standard. That is what I have done.

The standards for the web are defined by the World Wide Web Consortium (w3c.org). Whilst there are very few browsers that stick to them, it is safe to say that, if you do, then your pages are gauranteed to be compatible with almost all browsers.

What did I use:

HTML Compiler = Macromedia Dreamweaver 3
Graphics Composer = Macromedia Fireworks 3
StyleSheet (CSS) Compiler = Bradsoft Topstyle v2
Browser = Opera 4.02 (Closest to HTML Standard Compliance)

Why am I so bothered in the first place you may well wonder. Well, Internet development is my job so these kind of hurdles are a constant and I feel strongly about the need for something to be done before the Internet is crippled........ shut up Jake you boring git !

Why is the new-look TUCKSHOP so plain and boring? Because it is XHTML 1.0 Compliant. So there! Interested? See the Why and how !
